HIRI manufactures various special items made of foams, rubber and plastic for medical technology and orthopaedics.
These include small series and prototypes for medical training (for example, to simulate a human abdominal wall) and for products in the laboratory field.
We also produce components for manufacturers of medical devices.
Silicones and silicone foams are often used here, as they can be used for sterilization due to the high temperature ranges (up to 200° C, special types even up to 270° C).
Silicone does not contain any toxic substances, is non-corrosive, non-adhesive and non-electrically conductive.
Soft foams are often used in orthopaedics, for example in making prostheses. The flexible foams meet the requirements of the Medical Devices Act (MPG-Medizinproduktegesetz).
